Most people, including the most accomplished authors, require editing. My job as an editor is to assist you in getting your manuscript ready for publication either as a self-edited work or through a publisher.

Writing a book or a personal history of any size requires an extra set of eyes, sometimes more. Read the acknowledgements of any well-known author and you will see that they didn’t create the book by themselves. The writer has the idea and the skills to write it down. The editor has the refining skills to see below the surface to correct grammar, punctuation, spelling and word choice as well to assist with chronology, clarity and readability.

Editors are enhancers. They work to make what is good better, what is great, outstanding. They challenge writers. They challenge themselves.
